Lisabet's News

June 2009

Hello, friends! I'm in a rush to get this newsletter online. I'm moving to a new apartment tomorrow, and my Internet service will be shut down in a matter of hours. So I hope you'll forgive me for offering a briefer and brisker summary of my news than usual.

New and Upcoming Releases

Earlier this month, Total-E-Bound released my story Getaway Girl as a single title.

All that Peg wants is a break, a bit of adventure, a relief from her mundane existence in the buccolic but boring Yorkshire hamlet of Kirkby Malzeard. When dashing, sophisticated journalist Lionel Hayes saunters into the pub where she's tending bar, Peg suspects that he was just the sort of man to fulfill her fantasies of escape.

The seductive Lionel, however, is not what he seems. Before she knows it, Peg is a hostage, roped and gagged, speeding away from the scene of a daring crime. Lionel is armed and dangerous, but somehow Peg still wants him—regardless of the consequences.

Where the Girls Are Cover

In early July, don't miss the single title release of my ménage story Monsoon Fever, an exotic and evocative tale set in India in the early twentieth century. Also in July, watch for D.L.King's lesbian anthology Where the Girls Are, featuring my story "Rush Hour".

I'm starting to get some reviews for my two May releases. Laura at You've Gotta Read reviews says of Serpent's Kiss:

Elena and Jorge are old souls brought together after years apart, and their hearts know it immediately. Their love knows few boundaries, and you can't help but cheer them on. Anyone reading this will feel transported to a world filled with wonder, suspense and romance.

With regard to Truce of Trust, she writes:

I would not recommend attempting to read this without the hope of a cold shower in the near future.

If that's not an endorsement for an author of erotic romance, I don't know what is!

Other News

My June free read is a full-length story entitled "Ruler". The absolute ruler of an ancient, exotic civilization discovers that being all-powerful is not necessarily what he desires.

I've also posted a new review, of Catherine Lundoff's wonderful collection of lesbian short stories, Night's Kiss.

On Hitting the Hot Spot this month, my topic is "Learning to Write Romance". I started my publishing career writing erotica, and I've had to adjust as I moved into the world of romance. Drop by on June 17th and let me know whether you think I'm moving in the write direction.

At Oh Get A Grip! this week, we're talking about ghosts. Next week we'll take on "The Great Outdoors". I'm rubbbing my hands together, thinking about all the al fresco experiences I might share with you.

I'm working hard on Necessary Madness, my new M/M paranormal erotic romance, but real world stuff like my job and moving are slowing me down. My goal is to complete the book by the end of August.

I did manage to finish and submit a new short story called "Stroke" to Rachel Kramer Bussel's upcoming BDSM anthology Please, Sir. Of course I won't get word about this for quite a while, but I really like the premise of the story--the idea that a Dom can exercise power over his submissive without even touching her.

Contests!

Congratulations to Joy, who won a free copy of Truce of Trust in my May contest.

For my June contest, here's the deal. Write a reader review of any of my Total-E-Bound titles that you've read. For direct links to each title, just see my Books page. The TEB page for each book offers a link for adding your review. Next, send me an email at contest [at] lisabetsarai.com, with the subject line "Review Contest", letting me know which title you reviewed. (Reviews don't have to be long. Just share your thoughts.) If you prefer, you can review one of my print titles at Amazon:

Let me know in your email what you reviewed, and where. On July 15, I'll choose two lucky winners, each of whom will receive an autographed print book from my backlist.

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My June Pick of the Month is Brenna Lyon's blog The Lyons' Den. Brenna is a legend in e-publishing, and has a lot to say on the subject. Drop by and see what she's up to.
